The Coordination Unit ensures appropriate child care standards are maintained (such as compliance with National Family Day Care Standards, Quality Practices Guide 2004 and Nillumbik Family Day Care Day Policies and Procedures Manual). Copies of these documents are available through the Coordination Unit.
Family Day Care is Nationally Accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council. All Family Day Care schemes are required to participate in the Quality Assurance system every two-and-a-half years.
Quality Assurance provides a way to measure, review and improve quality practices on a continuous basis. This relates to both the direct provision of care and associated administrative functions. You can be reassured the care your children receives is continually monitored, evaluated and improved to ensure the best quality practices are adopted and maintained. You can remain confident about using Family Day Care and children will be provided with care that is constantly improving to achieve the best quality outcomes for their development.
Family Day Care Quality Assurance is based on six Quality Areas and 30 Principles. To find out more about these and the Quality Assurance process, download the information sheets from the links below. More information can be found on the National Childcare Accreditation Council's website or the Family Day Care website.
