Family day care is a deregulated service, which means fees are independently set by each educator. The hourly rates are reasonable and educators charge the rate they consider appropriate for the individual service they offer. You should discuss fees with your potential educator during the initial meeting. Child Care Benefit is available to reduce the cost of care.
Child Care Benefit
Child Care Benefit is a
payment made by the Commonwealth Government to help you with the
cost of quality child care. The Family Assistance Office assesses
your family income to determine the eligible Child Care Benefit
percentage. You can choose to reduce the cost of child care weekly
or claim the benefit as a lump sum payment at the end of the
financial year. Contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50 or
visit the Family Assistance Office website.
