In conjunction with the mobile library to St Andrews, Panton Hill, North Warrandyte and Arthurs Creek, there will be a family resourcing service available. A Family Services worker will be in attendance each week to provide parents and careproviders with information about programs and services available within the local community. There will also be activities for children to engage in which have a focus on numeracy and literacy using inexpensive, recycled, natural and open ended materials.
Come along and get some ideas on how to create interesting, engaging and educational play spaces for your children in your own home with limited fuss and mess! There will be a free take home activity kit for children each week.
Additional resources that will be available to you and your children on these resource days are:
- reverse garbage
- demonstrations of play ideas for families with limited resources and budget
- preschool story time with a librarian one day per month
- materials and information about programs currently running for children and families within the shire
- special visits from specialist services, professionals and organisations such as: speech pathologist, family support workers, toy library, reusable nappies, dieticians, and much more!
- family support
- access to the internet
