Local partnerships are the cornerstone of the Best Start approach.
Many benefits can be gained from forming broad partnerships that
bring together expertise and experience in partnering, early years
service delivery, local planning and good practice. The Nillumbik
Best Start Partnership includes members from the following:
- Austin Child Adolescent Mental Health Service
- Berry Street Victoria
- Children's Protection Society
- Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Nillumbik Community Health Service
- Nillumbik Primary Principal Network
- Nillumbik Shire Council
- Parent Community Leaders
- Yarra Plenty Regional Libraries
- YMCA
The Nillumbik Best Start Partnership meet every two months.
The Partnership is responsible for monitoring Nillumbik Best Start
and for the development and ongoing implementation of the
Nillumbik Best Start Action Plan and
subsequent projects. The Action Plan is a collaborative
document from the Partnership that forms an agreed basis for
priority setting of community needs, project direction,
development and evaluation. Nillumbik Shire Council as the
fund holder and facilitating partner have responsibility for
appointing a Best Start Facilitator to undertake the
coordination of the Partnership and the project.
The Nillumbik Best Start Partnership is required to submit an
Annual Report to comply with funding requirements.
The
Nillumbik Best Start Annual
Report provides an update on the progress of the
Partnership's activities and programs for the financial
year.
