Protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people

Protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a joint protocol of the Department of Human Services Child Protection, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Licensed Children's Services and Victorian Schools. The protocol details current policy and practice to promote and support the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Victorian schools and licensed children's services. It also defines the respective roles and responsibilities for each service / agency involved in the protocol in working together to protect children and young people from abuse and neglect.

The protocol provides information for licensed children's services and Victorian schools to take appropriate action when it is believed that a child has suffered harm, or is likely to suffer harm, through abuse or neglect.
