Nillumbik Health & Wellbeing Profile - Families 2009

The Nillumbik Health and Wellbeing Profile - Families 2009 identifies and describes the factors that may place a family, with a child or children aged prenatal to eight years of age and residing in the Shire of Nillumbik, at risk of disadvantage. Families may be placed at risk of experiencing disadvantage through a range of factors, including poor access to services, stress, fatigue, lack of time to spend together or extended family not living in the same area.

This project was commissioned through the Nillumbik Best Start Partnership. The Best Start approach aims to strengthen the local capacity of parents, families and early years services to better provide for the needs of all young children and their families. The cornerstone of the approach was the formation and work of collaborative local partnerships to meet the Best Start aims. The Nillumbik Best Start Action Plan 2008-2016 provides detailed information regarding the aims and specific indicators of the partnership.
