The Child Care Connect Victoria website has been developed by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. It was launched at the end of 2009 and brings together a range of child care information including easy to access links to search for child care and other early childhood services, child care news and articles for parents on early childhood development.
The website also inlcudes an online child care demand survey to record current and future long day care needs. Families who complete the survey are eligible to dowload a free, intereactive animated e-book, Ruby and Lolo go to Child Care. The story is designed to help parents prepare children for child care.
The results of the online surveys will be generated into statistical child care demand reports and provided to local government and the Municipal Association of Victoria on a six-monthly basis. This will assist with forward planning to meet child care needs and infrastructure requirements.
