The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has contracted the Royal Children's Hospital to provide an information and advisory line to support Children's Services and Government Schools to implement the Anaphylaxis Guidelines in their service.
The Advisory Line can provide:
- advice on issues related to the Department's Anaphylaxis Guidelines
- information on training that is funded by the Department
- information to support children's services and schools in implementing the guidelines.
If a children's service or school is looking at developing written policies and guidelines or reviewing current ones, the Advisory Line can assist with:
- a risk assessment of the centre/school environment
- identifying who needs to be trained
- developing emergency procedures
- reviewing centres' and schools' guidelines
- advice on EpiPen storage
- advice on preventative strategies
- assistance in developing individual management plans for each child.
