Sovereign Hill, a recreated 1850s Goldfields Township where real gold flows in the creek is located in Bradshaw Street, Ballarat There are a range of activities, demonstrations and street theatre performances carried out by costumed staff and volunteers. While there you can pan for real gold, see craftsmen at work in traditional 1850s trades, take a tour of a mine and do some 1850s style shopping.
Sovereign Hill is open from 10am to 5pm daily, except for Christmas Day, and during daylight savings is open until 5.30pm.
Ticket prices are $37.50 for adults, $17 for children aged 5-15 years, $96 for a family ticket of two adults and up to four children. Includes entry to Sovereign Hill, The Red Hill Mine and The Gold Museum.
