Puffing Billy

Puffing Billy is a century-old steam train running on a mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook through the Dandenong Ranges. One of the most popular stops along the journey is Emerald Lake Park, featuring over 50 hectares of parklands, two lakes and walking tracks. You can go trout fishing, take a paddleboat ride or relax with a picnic or barbeque while the children enjoy the many playgrounds on offer.

There are a number of special train rides including the Steam and Cuisine luncheon, the Devonshire journey, the Dinner Special on Friday and Saturday evenings and annual trains such as Wizards and Witches (September and October), Valentines Day (February), Thomas the Tank (Autumn and Spring) and Santa (November and December).

Puffing Billy departs daily, except Christmas Day, from Belgrave (6 Old Monbulk Road, Melway Ref 75 F10). For timetable information call 131 638 or visit their website.
