The National Sports Museum houses Australia’s most comprehensive collection of sporting artefacts. The museum honours football, cricket, soccer, Olympic Games and many other sports. There are a range of exhibitions, offering a unique insight into our great athletes and sporting moments including Game On (an interactive gallery where you can test your own sporting skills) and Cinema Sport (a 34-seat cinema screen offering three 12-minute sporting films made especially for the museum).
The National Sports Museum is located at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, on Brunton Avenue in Richmond. It is located across two levels of the Olympic Stand and entrance is via Gate 3. Opening hours are from 10.00am – 5.00pm daily (except Christmas Day and Good Friday), with last admission at 4.00pm.
On days when sporting events are being held within the MCG arena (such as cricket, AFL football or soccer), the opening hours of the National Sports Museum can vary. It is recommended you check their website before your planned visit to confirm whether an event is planned at the MCG for that day.
Tickets are available at the ground and prices are: adults $15, concession $11, children $8, children under 5 free, family (2 adults, 4 children) $50.
