The Melbourne Zoo is located in Elliott Avenue, Parkville (Melway Ref: 43 E1) and has more than 300 species of animals from all over the world. Top attractions include Trail of the Elephants, Orang-utan Sanctuary, Butterfly House, Gorilla Rainforest and Amazing Australians. At certain times throughout the day you can hear expert Keepers make presentations about the animals in their care and conservation work being done for that species.
Melbourne Zoo is open from 9am every day of the year. The usual closing time is 5pm, but on selected evenings during summer the Zoo stays open until 9:30pm for the Zoo Twilights concert series.
Ticket prices are $25.40 for adults, $12.60 for children aged 4-15 years, $19.60 for concession and a range of family passes are also available. Tickets can be purchased online or at the venue. Children now receive free entry on weekends, Victorian public holidays and Victorian Government School holidays!
