Melbourne Museum

Melbourne Museum explores life in Victoria, from our natural environment to our culture and history. There are eight permanent galleries, including one just for children, a living rainforest, the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre and other highlights include the famous racehorse Phar Lap and a complete skeleton of a blue whale.

The Museum is located in the Carlton Gardens, opposite the Royal Exhibition Building in Nicholson Street, and is open daily from 10am-5pm (except Good Friday and Christmas Day). Tickets prices are: adults $8, children free. Discounts are available for joint tickets with IMAX Theatre and additional charges may apply for temporary exhibitions.

1, 2, 3 Grow Exhibition
This exhibition tells the story of growth through the themes of size, colour and shape, and uses a wonderful selection of specimens from the Museum's natural history collections. This gives you the opportunity to compare your own growth story to the way animals, plants and minerals grow. This exhibition is designed for three to eight year olds and their parents/carers, and will delight and inspire all ages. It forms the centrepiece for the Children's Museum and is a link to many other exhibitions within Melbourne Museum.

Bookings and enquiries can be made by phoning 13 11 02 or visit their website.
