Situated on the banks of the Diamond Creek in the heart of Eltham, Edendale Farm operates as a community environmental education centre offering a range of workshops and programs on topics such as biodiversity, waste management, air quality and water conservation. There are lots of fun and informative activities to do; these include:
- visit the indigenous plant nursery and water efficient demonstration gardens
- see composting and worm farms in action
- follow the interpretive signage that explains the environmentally sustainable practices on display
- view the well-known recyclable Eltham Copper Butterfly
- do the Environmental Footprint Trail and Butterfly Hunt Trail (for primary school-aged children)
- stroll through the orchard and visit the poultry
- see the goats, sheep and Toby the steer, which graze in paddocks demonstrating good water and grazing management techniques.
Edendale Farm is open from 9.30am – 4.30pm every day except Christmas Day and entry fee is by donation.
