The Community Services Hub in Graysharps Road, Hurstbridge has been a focal point of support and activity for bushfire recovery work since the middle of last year. It has provided ongoing assistance for people needing to access a wide range of services. Nillumbik Shire Council recognises that the road to recovery requires a long term commitment. In recognition of this and with financial assistance from the Department of Human Services, the Hurstbridge Community Service Hub will remain open until at least March 2011.
Council staff will be present at the Hub and can provide referrals to the Department of Human Services, Centrelink and other agencies. Other services with a presence at the Hub (at this current time) include:
- Department of Human Services, one day per week
- Hank Leine from The Mobile Building Advisory Services on Tuesdays or by appointment
- Bushfire Recovery Youth Officer, Ele Jenkins on Fridays or by appointment
- Strategic Business Support, Darryl Brook, by appointment
Those involved in rebuilding or recovery work can access the internet (there are a limited number of computers) and photocopying. To access any of these services please contact the Hub on 9433 3720.
