The Gay Dads Australia website has been set up to support gay men who are planning on, or who are already parents. The site includes an active Discussion list and calendars for Victorian, New South Wales and Queensland groups which keeps state members informed of events and topical discussion.

Maybe Baby Melbourne

Maybe Baby Melbourne is a social group for people who are considering forming a rainbow family. People of all sexualities who share the aim of creating a family within the gay, lesbian, bi, transgender and intersex community are welcome. They meet the first Tuesday of each month at various venues. To receive newsletters and meeting information put the word ‘subscribe’ in the subject line and email them.

Rainbow Families

The Rainbow Families Council is a volunteer community organisation working for same-sex parented families in Victoria. They aim to: share information and resources to support families, children and prospective parents; work for social and legal recognition for the children and families; represent the best interests and rights of children living in rainbow families, parents and prospective parents to government and non-government bodies; and encourage families to be visible and proud. ALSO Foundation

The ALSO Foundation works to enhance the lives of Victoria's diverse gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer communities. The resources section of the website includes We’re Here a resource booklet for childcare workers. It was written by members of the lesbian parents playgroups in the City of Darebin, with the assistance of a number of early childhood workers.

Gay and Lesbian Switchboard

The Gay and Lesbian Switchboard is is a free and confidential telephone-based counselling, information and referral service based in Melbourne. Counsellors are available from 6pm to 10pm Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays; 2pm to 10pm Wednesdays and 6pm-9pm Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Rainbow Playgroups

This community organisation links families across Melbourne through rainbow playgroups, newsletters and social contact opportunities. The playgroups are held weekly in Fairfield, Thornbury, Murrumbeena and Williamstown for children aged 0-6 years. If you are interested in joining a playgroup or have children under the age of 18 who would like to receive newsletters and opportunities to attend family days then send an email.
