The Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service

The Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service provides 24-hour, 7 days per week telephone crisis counselling, referral, information and support. The service is the central contact point for women's refuges in Victoria and can arrange refuge accommodation referrals.

Men's Referral Service

The Men's Referral Service website provides information for men who are thinking about their anger, behaviour, relationship issues or parenting and need help and support. The service also provides information for women who are experiencing violence from a male family member or for people concerned about how someone else is being treated by a male family member. The Men's Referral Service also offer a free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling service from male counsellors. This service operates from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday.

Domestic Violence Victoria

The Domestic Violence Resource Centre is a state-wide service that provides information and referral: specialist support services; helpful pamphlets and websites; professional training courses; a comprehensive library; a quarterly newsletter; discussion papers, books and other publications; and commentary on policy initiatives and law reform. Berry Street provides support to women and children who are experiencing or escaping from domestic violence. The venue for support is at a location where both the worker and the woman feel safe.

Women's Information Referral Service (WIRE)

WIRE provides free information, support and referrals to women across Victoria from sensitive, supportive and skilled women. Services include telephone support, a walk-in-centre (10.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday) and a comprehensive website.

Child Abuse Prevention Service (CAPS)

CAPS is a national service, running a 24 hour, free and confidential telephone support line. They provide information, support, crisis intervention and referral. They take calls from children and adults who are/have experienced abuse, from parents or carers, concerned members of the community and from professionals working with children and families who have child abuse-related questions or concerns about the welfare of a child.
